Christian Education for the Children of St. Francis

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Sundays from 9:45-10:30am):    The atrium is a specially prepared environment with a prayerful atmosphere for the 3 - 6 year olds.  A peaceful, quiet and reverent place that helps the child focus on and listen to God.  This program called the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd was developed by Gianna Gobbi, an apprentice to Dr. Maria Montessori, and Sofia Cavelletti, a Hebrew scholar.  It uses the principal Montessori teaching methods applied to the religious formation of children.   Please visit our atrium and experience the exploration of the Holy Scriptures through the eyes of our children.  

Grades First through Third (Sundays from 9:45-10:30am):   Features Cokesbury One Room Sunday School curriculum, a comprehensive three year bible study which introduces our young children ages 6 - 9 years to bible study, activities, and music which inspires and engages the class.

Grades Fourth through Sixth (Sundays from 9:45-10:30am):    Features Cokesbury Rock Solid curriculum which teaches children how to build a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and a relationship with their leader and other children encouraging daily use of the Bible.   Children are engaged with activities, crafts, stories and games.

Grades Seven through Twelve (Sundays from 9:45-10:30am):  St. Francis Youth Director leads our young people.  Please visit our EYC and YOUTH page for other teen programs.

Confirmation Classes for young people: ages 13 and up. Confirmation is scheduled for October.  Anyone interested please call the church office at 988-4371. Ms. Leathea Gray is teaching the classes.
